Past Meeting - Februrary 1, 3:00 pm

Imaginit Technologies and Onix sponsored our meeting, at the Hard Rock Cafe at 73 York Street in the Market, on Tuesday February 1, 2011 from 3pm to 5pm.

Eric Wing, a long-standing Revit guru, known for his wit and wisdom as a speaker and information source. A very interactive session, we saw complete BIM and Revit workflow realities as they really are.

As BIM Manager at C&S Companies in Syracuse, NY, Eric oversees the 400-person office running a full suite of both Revit and Bentley software, and including Architects, Engineers (Civil, Structure, Mechanical, Electrical), Landscape Architects and Interior Designers. Their/his most recent claim to fame has been delivering large-scale airport projects completely in Revit. Read more about him and the company at the following links:

Eric delivered an adaptation to his "BIM for Bosses" half-day seminar.

How does one work within today's technical realities of interoperability between GIS, Civil Engineering software, Landscape Designers, and the BIM? How is C&S making it work, and what do they like about this way of working? Where can we expect to see major improvements in the near future, and what do we need to accept as status quo?
